Brooklyn’s Love Camp 7 has an instantly recognizable sound, part striking harmonies, part contrapuntal arrangements, part unexpected tempo changes. Produced by Jim Gaines, this second album from the Memphis group follows strongly in the footsteps of their debut. Between Jesse Hoggard's down home guitar and Billy Gibson's harmonica, the group's sound is pure Memphis grit and muscle, amply fortified by the bass and drums of Kevin Sheahan and John Scalici. It’s one of those bands that evokes past masters of psychedelic pop—Kinks, Love, Beach Boys—without ever seeming retro or derivative.

Recorded at Inside Sounds Studio, Memphis, Tennessee in January 1999. With playing and writing this deep, we can only hope for more music of equal caliber from this promising new band.
