 Killah Priest Biography
Brooklyn-born and -raised, Artist has built his career expanding on the Gnostic religious philosophy first incorporated into hip-hop music by the Wu-Tang Clan. A longtime Wu-affiliate, Artist appeared on the Gravediggaz first album and participated in the Sunz of Man original lineup, though he first garnered major attention with the track "B.I.B.L.E. (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth)," an autobiographical cut that closes the GZA's debut LP, LIQUID SWORDS. Since 1998, Priest has released a string of solo albums that further explore the themes of "B.I.B.L.E." and connect biblical allegories to the contemporary ghetto struggle.
