Leo Kottke Biography
Along with John Fahey and Robbie Basho, Artist was one of the most influential acoustic fingerstyle guitarists to appear in the 1960s. His unusual harmonies and death-defying picking patterns forged a unique, distinctive style that was often imitated. Eventually, Kottke expanded beyond the guitar-hero role by developing into an agreeably quirky singer-songwriter in the 1980s and '90s, but his '70s instrumental recordings remain key items in the world of contemporary acoustic guitar music.
