 Sleepy Labeef Biography
With a deep, booming voice as big as his imposing frame, Sleepy LaBeef (aka Thomas LaBeff) was one of the few artists of the original rockabilly era to continue working into the 21st century. He started recording in 1957 for the Starday label, and for a time he worked in Nashville, concentrating on a more country-flavored sound, but eventually returned to his rock-&-roll roots, and was still performing regularly 50 years after his debut, long after many of his contemporaries had either passed on or retired.
