Like the last release, Still Life With Llamas, this album contains a mix of both old and new material. 9) I like songs that seem to be about controlled substances (but are really not): Blue Steel. 4) I am wistful for what could be: Out of Time. Some of the songs, like Blue Steel, are so new that the lyrics were penned literally hours before the first vocal tracks were recorded. From the flat-out-mushy-assed love song Lullaby, to the rockin' Contradictory Girl, to the plaintive Darkness at Noon (yes, we have read the book - no connection - just liked the title), to the angry What Do I Get?, we spread our wings even farther than usual. 8) I have a thing for Katrina and the Waves: Another Day. 7) I am depressed: Darkness at Noon. Emotional Philosophy is Laconia Corporation's most diverse album, yet, both in subject matter and style. 3) I wanna rock (and don't mind bad grammar, either): Contradictory Girl. 5) I am bitter and proud of it: What Do I Get?6) I am more than vaguely fatalistic: Revelations. A few of the songs, like the title track, date back 15 or more years. 11) I love to dis the yuppie lifestyle (even though I may be living it my self): What Is It (You Do)?12) I am looking for a song for my girlfriend/boyfriend to be 'our song': Lullaby. 10) I am not depressed, but want to be: The Hurt. 2) I like title tracks: Emotional Philosophy.
