Serving as the male vocalist in the former Giant Step Records performing group Jiva, led by Khari Simmons (former bass player for India.Arie), Alex has been notably compared to the vocal stylings of such artists as Luther Vandross and Will Downing. Whether listeners are appreciating his smooth vocals and trumpet on the Julie Dexter/Khari Simmons’ “Moon Bossa” album or hearing his satin voice on the duet The Matrimony that he co-wrote with Rhonda Thomas, Alex is known for bringing his gifts to add just the right touch to any music project.
