 Barrington Levy Biography
Barrington Levy cut his teeth in the dancehalls of 1970s Jamaica as a member of the group Mighty Multitude before achieving international success during the '80s. A string of successful albums and singles that showcased Levy's blend of dancehall raggamuffin and smooth singing made him arguably the biggest reggae star of the '80s, particularly in his native Jamaica and the U.K. Though he never found comparable success in the States, by the mid '90s Levy had evolved into something of an elder statesmen of dancehall, collaborating with younger performers such as Bounty Killer, Snoop Dogg, and members of Sublime.
