| | Live At The Paradiso CD (2008)
$14.89 Recorded during the summer of 2008 in Amsterdam, this release (also issued on DVD) marks Live's first concert album, a rather surprising point given the long-running alt-rock band's name. Drawing from 15 years of studio outings, including 1991's MENTAL JEWELRY ...

| Throwing Copper CD (1994)
$12.59 Having come together as a band in junior high school, the members of Live demonstrate a maturity and grasp of rock essentials far beyond their years, one reason why THROWING COPPER seems likely to vault them into the very upper ...

| Awake: The Best Of Live CD (2004)
$11.99 This 19-track greatest-hits collection provides a satisfying overview of one of the most popular heavy-rock acts of the mid-1990s. In the post-grunge era, when "alternative" became a byword for sincere, hard-hitting music with a thunderous guitar attack, Live dominated the ...
|
| Distance To Here CD (1999)
$8.65 Throughout much of the '90s, Live has been tabbed to inherit the serious rock mantle from R.E.M. and U2. On their fourth album, the four childhood friends continue down this path as they once again don their hair-shirts of tortured ...

| Mental Jewelry CD (1991)
$8.65 Live's debut album, Mental Jewelry, is full of Ed Kowalczyk's Eastern philosophical ideologies, based on Jiddu Krishnamurti (going as far as to name one track here after a Krishnamurti book, "You Are the World"). Considering the quartet were twentysomethings questioning ...
|
| Songs From Black Mountain CD (2006)
$11.05 Released three years after BIRDS OF PRAY, Live's 2006 album, SONGS FROM BLACK MOUNTAIN, finds the alternative-rock group staying in the vein of the former record's highly melodic sound, while revisiting its early-1990s roots. Often recalling the band's debut, MENTAL ...

| Birds Of Pray CD (2003) Bonus DVD; Limited Edition
$15.59 With 2001's V, many longtime Live fans were left scratching their heads. The experimentation in both song structure and production approach seemed forced and unsatisfying. The quartet's follow-up marks a just-in-time return to form for the band. BIRDS OF PRAY ...
|
| V CD (2001)
$17.45 Principally recorded at 11 AD Studios, Hollywood, California.
Following up the didactic pretensions of THE DISTANCE TO HERE, Live steps back a bit on V and instead infuses a bit more experimentation into their normally straightforward post-grunge sturm-and-drang thanks to production ...

 Live Biography
The members of Live began playing together as teenagers in their native York, PA, under various band names. After singer Ed Kowalczyk arrived, they were on the fast track to stardom. The moody alternative-rock sound of their 1991 debut album made some waves, but it was 1994's THROWING COPPER--produced by former Talking Head Jerry Harrison--that brought them fame, adding a considerable amount of heavy-rock crunch to their style and making them one of the most popular groups of the immediate post-grunge era.
