Long Blondes CD discography The Artist were one of a number of smart, punky, and fashionable bands to emerge from the U.K. in the early 2000s, representing something of a new New Wave that hit on both sides of the Atlantic to varying degrees. A slightly more austere, mature style marks the Blondes' approach to danceable, pop-infused punk, which sets the band apart from many of their younger, scrappier contemporaries. A sophisticated fashion sense and a male/female line-up have produced comparisons to Britpop legends Pulp, whose Steve Mackey produced the band's 2006 full-length, SOMEONE TO DRIVE YOU HOME.
