Isotope 217 has been described as "jazz without chops," and while it's true that there's little of the traditional emphasis on acrobatic performance, "jazz without borders" is a more apt description. Collapsing into chaos, the suite then drops into a drone section that sounds like a detuned digeridoo in the engine room of a dirigible. UTONIAN AUTOMATIC evokes early fusion, but points it in a refreshing direction. Brown.
