Like John Martyn, British singer-songwriter Ralph McTell might have enjoyed a rabid cult following on the order of Nick Drake's if only he'd died a romantically young death, as his early work is similar to Drake's and Martyn's. Instead, he continued recording for decades, his rich voice and skillful fingerpicking enlivening his romantic, poetic compositions. He's best known for the classic "Streets of London," but his talent doesn't stop there.
