Available together for the first time are the two EPs that served as teasers for Avantasia's 2008 opus, THE SCARECROW.

A deceptively full-bodied solo project, Avantasia is the brainchild of German heavy-metal composer Tobias Sammet of Edguy. While songs such as "Another Angel Down" are recognizable as straight up headbanging fodder, the title track personifies Sammet's ambitions with eleven minutes of rustic folk violin and crashing symphonic grandeur. Given that he's referred to as a "composer", it should come as no surprise that Sammet's latest is a fusion of classical bombast and wailing power metal.
