 Mogwai Biography
Formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 1996, Mogwai are proponents of mostly instrumental, guitar-based indie rock that relies more on atmospherics than traditional pop song structures. Like their American counterparts Low, the band creates soundscapes that can range from lush beauty to harsh noise. As the group has progressed, their recordings, often with producers Dave Fridmann and Tony Doogan, have traded in some of their all-out bombast for further explorations in melodic serenity.
