 Gary Moore Biography
The blues songwriter and guitarist Gary Moore, from Belfast, Northern Ireland, joined Thin Lizzy in 1977 at the request of his friend Phil Lynott. It proved to be a mutually beneficial move, as Moore contributed his guitar skills to the hugely successful BLACK ROSE album, and in return Lynott added vocals to Moore's 1979 hit single, "Parisienne Walkways." Moore's worldwide breakthrough came with the 1990 full-length, STILL GOT THE BLUES, which featured Moore's superb guitar work and gave new prominence to his confident vocals. The subsequent release of AFTER HOURS--featuring cameo appearances from B.B. King and Albert Collins--confirmed Moore's status as one of the U.K.'s most successful blues exports.
