 Nazz Biography
The Pennsylvania-based psychedelic-pop band the Nazz were led by guitarist/songwriter Todd Rundgren and singer Stewkey. Named after a Lord Buckley beatnik monologue about Jesus, they had a hit with "Open My Eyes," a sonic cousin of the Who's "Can't Explain" that also marked the band as first-generation power-poppers. Rundgren quit the band to pursue his solo career after their second album, and they continued briefly, releasing one more record, before disbanding.
