Driven by their lynchpin guitarist singer and songwriter Gerry Farrow aided by fellow singer and songwriter Vicky Warburton, the 5 piece have become a popular draw at the town's acoustic venues!As ever the set was a mix of covers and their own material, which included some new songs of which 'A little bit lost' was a notable highlight. Superb vocals, brilliant arrangements. A very very talented band. Sweet harmonies, clever songwriting. The second CD 'busy missing everything' moves on from the 2005 release with more intimate and personal themes focusing on the pressures of modern life. 'A collection of softly spoken acoustic numbers and more upbeat pieces with tracks like 'Giving Up' and 'Time on my Mind' standing out. This is Northern Quarter's second CD following on from the 2005 release 'One of these songs is about you' Formed in Loughborough, UK in 2001 Northern Quarter play acoustic based material with influences as diverse as The Magic Numbers, Neil Young, Roger Waters and Mike Scott. Vicky and Gerry are a great pair like a seasoned premiership strike partnership, while behind them the band don't put a foot wrong.
