Taking inspiration from classic sentimental pop crooners Andy Williams, Roger Whittaker, John McCormack, and Bing Crosby along with influences from American country music (Jim Reeves, Eddy Arnold) and aspects of his Irish heritage, Daniel O'Donnell is one of the most popular vocalists in the British Isles. Like Barry Manilow, O'Donnell is a fine pop craftsperson appealing to primarily conservative listeners who enjoy a good, unabashedly sentimental tune that is sung smoothly with an Emerald Isle lilt.
