Eamon O'Tuama's Behind Every Life in an unfortunate case of well-crafted songwriting and musicianship severely hampered by poor production. The title track features on the soundtrack of the independent movie, The Family Web. The seed of these songs is genuinely interesting, and hopefully some A&R person can see through the tinny production and sign the band to a major contract. Green Linnet? This studio mud is really too bad, since the Celtic-tinged performance of these strong and gritty folk-rock songs is admirable, but unfortunately unlistenable. In 1997 O'Tuama's first CD,Down with a Smile, was released on the CBM label in Ireland. Critics have compared his work to that of Bruce Springsteen,David Gray and Luka Bloom. Vocalist O'Tuama's vocals sound as though they were all phoned into the New York studio from his native Ireland, and the drums sound as though they're being played from some deep well. Distributed in the United States by Valley Distribution, Down with a Smile has received ongoing international airplay and critical acclaim. ~ Zac Johnson
