 Oar Biography
Oar albums A triumph of word-of-mouth enthusiasm over an official marketing plan, O.A.R. (Of a Revolution) has become one of the most popular U.S. live acts of the 2000s. They started out as just another roots-and-reggae-loving campus band in the mid-'90s, but used every opportunity they could to play live. They encouraged fans to bootleg their shows and soon became a part of a larger network of preppy/hippie jam bands that traveled the country, playing for huge audiences. Their exposure grew when they penned and performed the theme song to the hit TV show EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION. They signed to a major label in 2003, and by 2006, it was reported that they had sold over a million records in their relatively brief grassroots career.
