Blending the aggressive kick of Helmet with the razor sharp melodies of Hüsker Dü, the band simply piles one catchy song over the other on this 11-track set. "Day at the Beach" lurches through a vicious riff and urgent drums to reveal a raging band, just to turn around to show a sensitive side on the catchy "Locker." It is this yin and yang that keeps the interest of the listener, showing a band who recognizes both sides of the coin without showing preference. One Last Thing really kicks out all the jams on Foster Portfolio, their debut album. Any fan of emo music or just solid, melodic hardcore might want to give this a chance; this album shows a band in the underground just waiting to burst out and be heard.

Although the music is not wildly original, this will appeal to genre fans and is inexpensive enough for curious listeners to take a chance on. Shaping the kind of emo rock that tends to spring up a lot in the underground, both bands sound a lot like vintage Sunny Day Real Estate with an At the Drive-In twist. The split disc between One Last Thing and Crosstide works as a sampler for two of Portland's biggest local bands.
