$11.99 The Montreal trio Lesbians On Ecstasy play a potent mix of techno, metal, and punk rock on a set that includes a twisted electro spoof on K.D. Lang's "Constant Craving" and the erotic, swooning, "Manipulation." Their sound is tough, clubby, and sexy.

| Artist appears on Monochrome Set Trinity Road CD (1999) (Import) Import
$18.59 Elsewhere, intentionally bad puns ("The Wurst Is Yet to Come") and obscure pop-cultural references (the synth-heavy "The Golden Apples of the Sun" relates to Morton Subotnick's pioneering electronic piece "The Silver Apples of the Moon") abound. This serves to highlight singer-guitarist Bid's odd, sometimes surreal, occasionally gently mocking lyrics. The overall effect is not unlike a Britpop Steely Dan.
"Flamen Dialis" starts the record off with a veiled exploration of Bid's usual sexual obsessions, while "I Love Lambeth" sardonically celebrates the band's South London home. In many ways a summation of the second incarnation of the band, TRINITY ROAD is musically quite smooth and melodic, well produced and cannily arranged. 1995's TRINITY ROAD is the Monochrome Set's ninth album overall, and their last before the second extended hiatus of their career.

Orson Presence discography
$18.39 This is not to say that it's in any way mellow; the manic "Integrate Me" is as hyper as anything from the days of STRANGE BOUTIQUE, while Bid's lyrics are as odd and dryly satiric as ever.
"The Ethereal One" and "Handsome Boy" are two of the highlights, with the Steely Dan-like single "Milk and Honey" also a favorite. The most low-key of the Monochrome Set's studio albums, MISERE is a largely acoustic, often minor key collection of country-tinged pop songs.
