| | Primitive Radio Gods White Hot Peach CD (2000)
$14.49 Additional personnel: David Vaught (guitar); Steve White (flute, drums, background vocals); Garth Powell (guiro, gong); Johnny Brewton (Theremin, sound effects). "Devil's Triangle" is more aggressive with its heavy riffs and techtronic samples. Primitive Radio Gods includes: Chris O'Connor. And that's perfectly acceptable. Audio Mixer: Tim Palmer. "Gotta Know Now" and "Blood From a Beating Heart" are mysterious; theatrically impressive with electronic grooves and hushing vibes courtesy of O'Connor's less than dynamic presence as a frontman. Lead singer Chris O'Connor is not consumed with commercial success, for he makes his own rules when delivering hooky lyrical imagery. Defining themselves more than just a one-hit wonder, the Primitive Radio Gods retool their artsy modern rock on their long-awaited follow up, the indie rock friendly White Hot Peach (2001). White Hot Peach, however, isn't designed for a mass appeal. The songs themselves are quick, showcasing the band's shimmering acoustics and airy percussion. Photographer: Tim Lauterio. Recording information: Camp David; Drumsquasher Mobile. Personnel: Steve White (vocals, flute, tom tom); David Vaught (guitar); Garth Powell (guiro, gong, waterphone); Johnny Brewton (Theremin).
