A historical recording, 1993's OTRA NOTA marked the salsa debut of Marc Anthony, long before he achieved the coveted crossover and became a mainstream pop star. In retrospect, the eight songs here sound tame in comparison to the harder-sounding salsa that Anthony would favor in his subsequent releases, TODO A SU TIEMPO and CONTRA LA CORRIENTE.
Aided by RMM's in-house producer, the talented pianist Sergio George, Anthony hand-picked the songs that would better allow him to showcase his distinctive vocal chords, which are powerful and delicate at the same time.
