 John Renbourn Biography
John Renbourn was already a renowned guitarist on the U.K. folk scene when he became a founding member of pioneering British folk-rock band Pentangle, where he became part of a legendary guitar team alongside Bert Jansch. Renbourn had already released several solo albums by the time Pentangle split in the early 1970s, after which he began to focus more intensely on his solo work. Over the years, he also collaborated with everyone from Stefan Grossman to the Incredible String Band's Robin Williamson. Renbourn didn't take part in Pentangle's `80s reunion, but he was on hand when all the original members reconvened for the first time in 2007.
