Rich Boy Biography
A native of Mobile, Alabama, Maurice Richards (aka Rich Boy) broke into the rap game after his demos impressed prolific producer Polow Da Don. After signing with Don's Zone 4 imprint in 2005, Rich Boy cut his teeth with guest spots on a handful of mixtapes as well as Ludacris's DISTURBING THA PEACE compilation, Yung Berg's SEXY LADY EP, and Gucci Mane's BACK TO THE TRAPHOUSE. In 2006, Rich combined with DJ Whoo Kid for his own mixtape, BRING IT TO THE BLOCK. The following year his self-titled debut was released, eventually going gold on the strength of the hit single, "Throw Some D's."
