Tribute To Thin Lizzy CD (2007)

After receiving rave reviews from the Irish Press for their appearance there, the band played a string of shows in England and returned home to America. So the band re-formed, having broken up since 1998 and prepared for the gig. But in 2006, promoter Smiley Bolger asked them to play at the 20th Annual Vibe For Philo. Inspired by this heartfelt celebration of the great poet, bassist and musician's life, Ryder held a celebrity-packed tribute concert of his own that August 20, 1996 also at the request of Philomena Lynott, who felt Philip's birthday (August 20th) was a more appropriate day to hold a remembrance. But it was not to be--Smiley backed out of his agreement for unknown reasons. This concert, which featured Thin Lizzy and many others paid tribute to the memory of Philip Lynott, the leader and chief song-writer of the band, who died January 4, 1986. They began playing regularly and bringing the show to different venues. This was the last the band did in regards to Thin Lizzy and assumed all was accomplished--they had successfully paid tribute to man and the music they had all revered for so long. The band then decided to hold their own Vibe in Los Angeles and had a monster concert at Paladino's instead. In 1996, Rude Awakening bassist Robert Ryder was asked to go to Ireland by Philomena Lynott to attend the 10th Annual Vibe For Philo in Dublin, Ireland at the Point Depot. The band was then asked to play the 1997 Vibe For Philo by Smiley Bolger, the promoter of all the Vibes in Ireland. Rude Awakening performed at that fateful show, and Philomena proclaimed them to be the best Thin Lizzy Tribute she had ever seen, as did Kid Jensen the man who originally discovered Thin Lizzy. All along the way, they continued to record this record.
