More recently he has added selections from the hauntingly beautiful Celtic music of Ireland and Scotland to his performances. After revisiting the Classical Guitar repertoire of his youth, Mr. Silver’s repertoire now includes George Gershwin, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Henry Mancini, Lennon-McCartney, Andrew Lloyd Webber and other greats from the worlds of Jazz, Broadway and Popular Music. Along with Bach, Sor, Dowland, Villa-Lobos and Tarrega – staple composers of the Classical Guitar canon – Mr. Silver broadened it to include a wider range of musical genres. Tom Silver studied Classical Guitar with Alexander Bellow in New York, but left the music world to do post-graduate work and pursue a business career. He is a member of the New York, New Jersey and Boston Classical Guitar Societies. He ended that career a number of years ago and returned to the guitar, which became a second profession. Mr. Silver was educated at Drew University and Rutgers University, and presently resides in northern New Jersey most of the year, with summers spent on Cape Cod.
