Southern Culture On The Skids CD discography Led by singer/guitarist Rick Miller, North Carolina band Artist has been serving up a raw, rowdy combo platter of rockabilly, garage rock, blues, country, and a dash of punk since the 1980s. They released their self-titled debut album in 1986, and over the next decade their greasy, gritty sound earned them a big enough audience to land a major-label deal. After recording DIRT TRACK DATE and PLASTIC SEAT SWEAT for Geffen, though, it was back to the indies, where the band's loose 'n' loud approach is probably best appreciated anyhow.
