 Testament Biography
One of the most revered thrash-metal ensembles of the 1980s and early `90s, Testament never achieved the success of fellow San Francisco Bay area band Metallica, but it garnered an impressive international following during its heyday. Fronted by fierce singer Chuck Billy, the group's signature guitar sound was shaped by the heavy riffs of Eric Peterson and the virtuosic leads of Alex Skolnick. Testament's career waned when Skolnick left in 1992, setting off a string of line-up changes, but he rejoined the fold for 2008's THE FORMATION OF DAMNATION, a welcome return to form.
