Billy Bob Thornton albums Though Artist is best known as actor, famed for his roles in films like SLING BLADE and MONSTER'S BALL, he's also got a musical side. He began a sideline as a singer/songwriter after his success in movies, debuting with the 2001 album PRIVATE RADIO. Over the next several years, Thornton released three more albums, establishing an alt-country/roots-rock style that was organic, but dark and moody. In 2008, he shifted to a group format, forming the country band The Boxmasters, with whom he both sang and played drums.
