 Luke Vibert Biography
Luke Vibert CD discography Part of the first generation of U.K. bedroom techno experimentalists (Aphex Twin, U-Ziq, and Squarepusher, were others), Cornwall-based DJ/producer Artist was first attracted to the possibilities of solo electronica as a drummer for short-lived Beastie Boys copiers the Hate Brothers. Swept up in the tide of post-Second Summer of Love U.K. dance music, Vibert, along with friend Jeremy Simmonds, released the cult techno album WIERS (1993) for the fledgling Rephlex label. Reflecting an increasingly heterogeneous approach to production, Vibert adopted several monikers during the mid-`90s electronica boom, each reflecting his idiosyncratic approach to typically hidebound genres such as drum & bass (Plug), trip-hop (Wagon Christ), and electro-house (Kerrier District).
