Currently Artist is preparing their 2009 Tour of Southern California in support of the release of their second effort "Land", as well as producing a third Artist record slated for release in 2010.It was in the spring of 2003 that Jim Leber first joined forces with singer/songwriter Matt Corey. A concept album which takes the listener on a whirlwind journey from one rock stars rise to demise. Jim asked Matt to add some Vocals to some of his demos that he had been working on. July of 2009 ushered in the release of Artist's second album "Land". Artist is a Southern California indie rock outfit with features a richly talented young quartet whose seamless sound welds a mix of influences from The Beatles to Jellyfish to Oasis to Butch Walker. Jim then brought together long time friends, Micheal Wessner on drums, Justin Brinsfield on Bass, and Bill Devine on Lead Guitar.The result is Artist, Twelve original songs that announce, in no uncertain terms, the arrival of a young band with a very promising future indeed. What happened next was nothing short of devine musical combustion, the combination clicked and Artist was born.
