 Bobby Watson Biography
This young, fiery, and gifted alto saxophonist was first brought into the spotlight by Art Blakey, when Blakey introduced him as the newest member of the Jazz Messengers in 1977. Artist has followed through on his promise with a string of heartfelt contemporary jazz records, mostly done in a classic quartet or quintet format (the latter featuring Terell Stafford on trumpet), as well as with a pair of rewarding forays into big band composition.
