 Wedding Present Biography
The Wedding Present is one of the finest bands to emerge from England's C-86 movement. Offering a warp-speed take on jangly, bittersweet guitar-pop, the Wedding Present were never huge stars in the U.S. or the U.K., but their clever lyrics, effortless melodies, and intense live shows led to a sizable cult following by the mid 1990s. Frontman David Gedge formed the short-lived and considerably more subdued Cinerama in '98, only to reassemble the Wedding Present for a new album and tour in the early 2000s.
