Dennis Wilson Biography
Best known as a founding member, drummer, and vocalist for the Beach Boys, Dennis Wilson was the second child between brothers Brian and Carl. The only real surfer in the band, Wilson gave credibility to the Beach Boys' surfer image (an image aided by his good looks), and, as the 1960s progressed, he began contributing more to the band's written material. In the late `60s, Wilson became entangled with the Manson Family, although he had dissociated himself from the group before the notorious Tate-Lo Bianco murders. Wilson released a solo album, 1977's PACIFIC OCEAN BLUE and recorded another, BAMBU, which remains unreleased. Dennis Wilson died by drowning in 1983.
