The debut album by Uzbekistan's Sevara Nazarkhan was originally released in 2003 and reissued in 2008. However, the expansive YOL BOLSIN, produced by French avant-rock mainstay Hector Zazou, is no mere world music travelogue; these 11 tracks seamlessly integrate subtle electronic touches. A singer who also plays the doutar, a lute-like stringed instrument indigenous to her Central Asian country, Nazarkhan is rooted in the music of her homeland.
