 Weird Al Yankovic Biography
The undisputed king of the parody song, accordionist/singer/comedian "Weird Al" Yankovic has recorded send-ups of songs by popular artists as wide-ranging as the Knack, the Kinks, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Nirvana, and Eminem. His seemingly simple jokes ("My Sharona" becomes "My Bologna"; "Beat It" to "Eat it") are actually supremely crafted interpretations that zero in on the tiniest details of the original songs and videos. Yankovic's parodies continue to entertain--especially the artists that provided the source material for his jokes--decades into his career. His 2006 album, STRAIGHT OUTTA LYNWOOD, (featuring the Chamillionaire parody "White & Nerdy") cracked the Billboard Top 10 shortly after its release.
