| | After The Gold Rush CD (1970) Remastered
$8.75 AFTER THE GOLDRUSH mixes up the hard rock of EVERYONE KNOWS THIS IS NOWHERE and the folk and country leanings Young pursued with Crosby, Stills And Nash in one of his most eclectic and satisfying releases. The acoustic picking on ...

| Harvest CD (1972)
$10.39 Deceptively laid-back-sounding country-rock plaints like "Out on the Weekend" and the title cut caress the ear unassumingly, pulling you into the more ominous subtext that is present even in the rollicking "Are You Ready for the Country." As always, Young ...

| Harvest CD (1972) Remastered
$9.09 Recognized as one of Young's (and hence one of rock & roll's) finest albums, HARVEST put the singer on the mainstream map with the mega-hit "Heart of Gold," which defined a soft folk-rock style frequently revisited by lesser artists throughout ...

| Harvest Moon CD (1992)
$9.15 Both artistically and stylistically HARVEST MOON is the successor to HARVEST, Neil Young's landmark acoustic album from 1971, which featured the No. 1 single, "Heart Of Gold."
The song "Harvest Moon" was nominated for a 1994 Grammy Award as "Record Of ...

| Tonight's The Night CD (1975)
$8.85 Let's get a popular misconception out of the way. The rap about this being one of Young's darkest, most harrowing albums is utter nonsense, perpetuated by critics who spend more time reading each other than listening to the music. TONIGHT'S ...

| Live At The Fillmore East Vinyl LP (2006)
$22.89 Of added interest to hardcore Young fans are performances of three songs that wouldn't be recorded until years later--the countrified "Come on Baby Let's Go Downtown," the elegiac "Winterlong," and the lovelorn shuffle "Wonderin'." Augmenting the basic quartet of Young, ...

 Neil Young Biography
Like the Band, Neil Young eschewed his Canadian roots to create a sound rooted in American folk and country, which he mixed with visionary, poetic rock in Buffalo Springfield and on his solo albums. He played the crucial fourth wheel role in Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, but ultimately proved too individualistic to participate in a democracy. The gritty, electric assault of his work with Crazy Horse is the alter ego of Young's more folk/country-based work, and also proved a key influence on the grunge sound of Seattle (Young even recorded a live album with Pearl Jam as his backing band). Over the years, he's followed his mercurial muse through everything from rockabilly to synth-pop to big-band blues, always remaining uniquely Neil.
