| | Old Ways CD (1985) Remastered
$6.55 There has always been a strong country element to Neil Young's music and OLD WAYS is perhaps the ultimate manifestation of Young's love of that style. Songs like "Get Back To The Country" (a stomping track on which fiddles and ...

$6.05 All tracks have been digitally remastered using HDCD technology.
Released right after the career albums TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT and ZUMA and right before the big-selling COMES A TIME and RUST NEVER SLEEPS, this country-rocky 1977 album is often forgotten. But it ...

| On The Beach CD (1974) Remastered
$8.99 After working his way through loss and chaos on the brilliant TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT (recorded in 1973, but not released until 1975), Neil Young deftly exorcised any lingering demons with 1974's ON THE BEACH. The album opens with the saunter ...

| Harvest Moon CD (1992)
$8.75 Both artistically and stylistically HARVEST MOON is the successor to HARVEST, Neil Young's landmark acoustic album from 1971, which featured the No. 1 single, "Heart Of Gold."
The song "Harvest Moon" was nominated for a 1994 Grammy Award as "Record Of ...
|
| Comes A Time CD (1978)
$8.79 With steel guitars, fiddles and lots of acoustic guitars, this low-key folk-rock album harks back to Young's great AFTER THE GOLD RUSH-HARVEST period, and if it doesn't measure up that's only because of the ridiculously high standards the earlier albums ...
|
| Zuma CD (1975)
$6.19 Easily the moodiest album in a career not lacking in that quality, ZUMA is a swirling, hypnotic current that drags you into river of self-doubt, bitterness and fear. This is the sound of the '60 gone sour. All the peace-and-love ...
|
| Unplugged CD (1993)
$8.69 For all its shortcomings, MTV's UNPLUGGED series, presenting artists in an ostensibly stripped-down, acoustic setting, has provided the world with a few recorded gems, including this album. Young's turn on the show amounts to a live best-of, focusing (out of ...

| Hawks & Doves CD (1980) Remastered
$6.15 All tracks have been digitally remastered using HDCD technology.
Following up the energetic, one-two punch of RUST NEVER SLEEPS and LIVE RUST, Neil Young takes a more understated route with 1980's HAWKS & DOVES. On rustic tracks such as "Little Wing" ...
|
| Tonight's The Night CD (1975)
$8.59 Let's get a popular misconception out of the way. The rap about this being one of Young's darkest, most harrowing albums is utter nonsense, perpetuated by critics who spend more time reading each other than listening to the music. TONIGHT'S ...

 Neil Young Biography
Like the Band, Neil Young eschewed his Canadian roots to create a sound rooted in American folk and country, which he mixed with visionary, poetic rock in Buffalo Springfield and on his solo albums. He played the crucial fourth wheel role in Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, but ultimately proved too individualistic to participate in a democracy. The gritty, electric assault of his work with Crazy Horse is the alter ego of Young's more folk/country-based work, and also proved a key influence on the grunge sound of Seattle (Young even recorded a live album with Pearl Jam as his backing band). Over the years, he's followed his mercurial muse through everything from rockabilly to synth-pop to big-band blues, always remaining uniquely Neil.
