Young Jeezy Biography
Atlanta-based rapper Artist was a journeyman MC, having put in time with Bad Boy Entertainment's Boyz N Da Hood, as a soloist on Def Jam, and as a staple of the underground mixtape world. The release of 2005's THUG MOTIVATION VOL.1, however, rocketed Jeezy (aka the Snowman) up the pop charts, peaking at number two. Jeezy's style is straightforward yet potent; his tracks are marked by a cinematic style of ATL crunk that's heavy on the drama factor; and while his lyrics are dominated by tales of the coke trade, Jeezy's Teflon street cred dispels any accusations of posturing. He released THE INSPIRATION in late 2006 to much acclaim.
