$21.29 Zevon actually released a record prior to his celebrated self-titled "debut," a record so bad that he took to touring with the Everly Brothers. Whatever he did on the road with them paid off. He returned to recording with bone-rattling ...

| I'll Sleep When I'm Dead CDs (1996) Anthology
$15.65 Warren Zevon's songs often address the uglier side of life with a black sense of humor and a strong grounding in both the musical and lyrical sides of songcraft. He's a misanthrope, but a lovable one. If you want an ...

| Excitable Boy CD (1978)
$6.05 The terrain is unsettling, bizarre and often soaked with blood. Stalking across the landscape are pina colada-sipping werewolves, headless mercenaries, and desperate gamblers. That the sound and overall musical mood of the record is upbeat underscores Zevon's ability to attach ...

| Bad Luck Streak In Dancing School CD (1980)
$5.95 BAD LUCK STREAK IN DANCING SCHOOL finds Warren Zevon knee deep in his own literary yet sardonic and grotesque music. From the opening riff of the title track, Zevon pounds and rocks against the tide of typical singer-songwriter blather. Zevon ...

| Quiet Normal Life: Best Of Warren Zevon CD (1986)

| Genius: The Best Of Warren Zevon CD (2002)
$14.79 To paraphrase the old saw, if Warren Zevon did not exist it would have been necessary to invent him. At a time when his L.A. singer-songwriter peers were bleeding all over their shirtsleeves with mawkish, sensitive balladry, Zevon turned the ...

 Warren Zevon Biography
Though he came out of the '70s Southern California scene and was championed by Jackson Browne, Warren Zevon's music is far more dark and sardonic than that background would suggest. The quintessential troubadour-with-an-attitude, he's sung about guns, death, and cattle disease (seriously) with a biting sense of humor and a musicality that's attributable to his early classical training. He's probably the only rocker who studied with Stravinsky. He blazed away through the '80s and '90s, doing some of his best work at the turn of the century, but he was cut down by cancer in 2003, leaving behind the album THE WIND as his farewell.
