As leader of the famed Wu Tang-affiliated crew Brooklyn Zu, Buddha Monk has worked prolifically for years, through his unflagging production on the mic and behind the boards. 12 O'Clock, Murdoc, Shorty Shitstain; Lil Vicious; Da Manchuz; Shyheim; Prodigal Sunn; Shacronz; Lazah Life; & Zu Ninjaz. Featured on this album are none other than Ol' Dirty Bastard himself; Brooklyn Zu ft. Behind the scenes was producer/artist/engineer Buddha Monk, Ol' Dirty's right-hand man, organizing sessions, producing tracks, and getting Dirty from place to place, holding it all together. Representing over a decade in the trenches of New York's underground rap scene, this raw, unpolished collection features lyrical contributions from Shyheim, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Juice, Da Manchuz, Layza Life, Tai Chi Mastas, and I Born as well as Brooklyn Zu members Prodigal Sunn, Shorty Shitstain, Murdoc, and 12 O'Clock.
From 1993 until his tragic death in 2004, the late great rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard led what was one-third of the now legendary Wu-Tang Clan dynasty of affiliated artists. Buddha Monk has finally agreed to open his vault and unleash the fury of these never-before heard songs that harken back to the crew's most classic period. Fans never got to hear much from the mysterious Brooklyn Zu Family. BROOKLYN ZU PRESENTS: UNRELEASED CHAMBERS brings together 19 rare and unheard tracks from Buddha Monk's crates.
