| | Cliffs Clear The Sky CD (2007)
$12.65 By October of 2006, despite many setbacks and lineup changes, The Artist had begun recording their first full length LP, Clear the Sky at the NYU studios. While not a political band, The Artist feel this is an important topic that must be addressed. With the release of the EP, The Artist were accepted to the 2006 MEANY festival and were reviewed by "Infuse", a British web magazine. After a short solo career in Israel that included radio air play and shows around the country, Ilay Ron, the founding Member of The Artist, moved to New York and through sheer luck met Ashton Sho, a talented young musician with a rich musical background experience playing at the Jerusalem Academy of Music. In December 2005, Ilay met with producer Evan Moore who had an interest of creating an EP for The Artist. It is due out on 7/7/07. For instance, the song Dirty Sand is a plea for the world to wake up to the issues that our environment faces. While performing Acoustic Shows in New York they continued looking for the band's missing pieces. Meeting occasionally every few months, they began working on songs to be included in the EP. The Artist played New York promoting the upcoming EP, and in June 2006, "Ordinary Eyes" was released. Ron's lyrics talk about issues that have a direct impact on his life and surroundings. The Artist don't really like to be classified in a specific category. The Artist music deals with daily issues such as love, hate, self identity, growing up through war, peace, life, and death. The band continued playing live shows at venues such as CBGB, the Continental, Arlene's Grocery and many more. By that time The Artist had already found a drummer and a lead guitarist.
