Betts & Great Southern were the 3rd highlight at the Rockpalast Festival on March 4-5, 1978. On those evenings, they played for the first time in Europe in front of an enthusiastic audience at the Gruga-Halle in Essen, Germany and millions of viewers on TV. Also included on a 2nd DVD is a July 19, 2008 concert at Museumsplatz in Bonn, Germany.

Great Southern videos DVDs purchase Joining the Allman Brothers Band at its inception in 1969, legendary guitarist Dickey Betts supplied the melodic lines that served as foil and support for leader Duane Allman's inventive slide soloing. After Allman's tragic death in 1971, Betts stepped forward as the band's main songwriter, penning such memorable Southern rock classics as "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," "Jessica," and "Ramblin' Man" before launching a solo career with his new band, Great Southern, in 1976. BACK WHERE IT ALL BEGINS captures Dickey Betts and Great Southern live in concert at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 29, 2004, performing a selection of his best material and a song written exclusively for the event, "Cleveland Blues."
Betts, a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, was the first performer to record a perfomance there. FIlmed on Sept. 29, 2004, this DVD includes a bonus CD of shound check versions of his most popular songs. The DVD features live performances of 12 songs, along with rehearsal footage and interviews.
