Frank Allison discography Frank Allison started out as leader of the regionally popular Frank Allison and the Odd Sox. Frank and the Sox built a reputation for great songwriting and fun shows. Simple songs of love, money, and the lack of both, gave Frank a realistic character and a style virtually unknown in the rock realm - Frank and his fans sweetly celebrated the loser in us all. The Sox played throughout the northern mid-west, where they garnered large enough crowds of dancing students to keep the band afloat for over 12 years. Monkey Business, Hokey Smoke, and Russia were the highlight albums of the period. Sadly, Frank lost his voice to spasmodic dysphonia, a condition where swallowing muscles constrict the flow of air when trying to sing (or speak), prompting a 10 year retreat from singing and song.
