 Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti Biography
Los Angeles-based DIY musician Ariel Pink (born Ariel Marcus Rosenberg) began recording and self-releasing tapes and CD-rs of his quirky postmodern take on psychedelia and indie rock in the mid 1990s, inspired primarily by the father of the home-taping underground, R. Stevie Moore (with whom he has since collaborated), as well as the similarly idiosyncratic likes of Syd Barrett, Roy Wood, and Beck. In 2004, Pink signed to Paw Tracks, the label run by the experimental indie act Animal Collective, which began releasing new albums and reissuing old material from his extensive back catalogue.
