Freddie Brocksieper music CDs Turkish-born drummer Freddie Brocksieper, nicknamed "Brocksi," is a pioneering but neglected figure from the early German jazz scene. Sometimes described as the German Gene Krupa, Brocksieper put together an excellent rhythm group in the early '40s that included Primo Angeli on piano, Josse Breyre on trombone, and Otto Tittmann on bass. This small group, billed as the Brocksi-Quartett, was a swinging dance band that recorded in Berlin for Brunswick during World War II.
