Come 2 My House CD (1998)
Walter Chancellor, Jr. CD discography Not to be outdone by her counterparts like Aretha Franklin and Jody Watlley, who both released their own 1998 albums, Chaka Khan throws her hat into the ring with COME 2 MY HOUSE. Aided in the production department by that artist that doesn't want to be called Prince anymore, this album hits you with an eclectic mixture of funk and soul. In fact, the Artist's presence and inspiration can be felt on the album from the very first track. And aside from a few conceptual missteps like the ineffective collaboration with Queen Latifah on the track "Pop My Clutch," this album works pretty well. The unusual pairing of these two icons is testament to the notion that sometimes incongruity works.
Includes liner notes by Pepsi Charles.
Engineers include: Hans-Martin Buff, Arne Frager, Michael McCoy.
Personnel: Chaka Khan, Robert Palmer, Kirk A. Johnson (vocals); Queen Latifah (rap vocals); Prince (guitar, background vocals); Mike Scott (acoustic guitar); Kathy Jensen, Walter Chancellor, Jr. (saxophone); The Hornheadz (horns); David Jensen (trumpet); Ricky Peterson (keyboards); Larry Graham (bass, background vocals); Rhonda Smith (bass); Michael Bland (drums); Mayte (finger cymbals); Brother Jules (scratches); Chante Moore, Marva King (background vocals).
