Patty Darling CD (2001)
Churchbuilder music CDs Churchbuilder's debut CD on Shelflife, Patty Darling, captures the enthusiasm of clean, precise, and fun synth pop. Led by Erin Carracher's lead vocals and supported by guitar, synthesizers, Moog keyboard, drums, and backing vocals, the band created a dreamy and danceable beginning to their recording career. Songs like "Vespa" and "French Kiss Conspiracy" settle the listener in for a soft journey of simple themes and simple chords, creating a straightforward indie pop album. Despite the generally upbeat tones, the themes are not entirely upbeat, especially in "Sob Sob," "Dreams," and "Rainy Day." The bittersweet songs are often followed by more wistful songs, creating a wave of moods and themes. Lush harmonies between Erin Carracher and Denise Grollmus are certainly highlighted, especially during "Hey Flannery." ~ Stephen Cramer

Microdancer CD (2002)
Churchbuilder discography Akron, OH's Churchbuilder returned in 2002 with the four-song Microdancer EP. The title track kicks off the disc, with Erin Carracher's confident vocals dancing over synth pop instrumentation. It's followed by the spunkier "Spanish Song," with Carracher and Denise Grollmus creating unique indie pop harmonies. "New Critics" is more downbeat, with Patrick Carney's guitars mixing beautifully with a swelling array of keyboards. The introspective "Snow in April" brings the disc to an end. BJ Barbieri checks in on drums, while Gabe Fulvimar makes a distinct impression on Moog keyboards. Recorded at the band's Synthetiquette Studios in Akron, the disc was released by Shelflife Records in July 2002. ~ Stephen Cramer
