Matthew Dear Biography
Following in the footsteps of Motor City techno artists Derrick May, Juan Atkins, and Ritchie Hawten, Artist emerged as a major force in electronic music in the early 2000s. Dear became the flagship artist of the Ghostly International label with the release of his minimalist masterpieces, LEAVE LUCK TO HEAVEN (actually released on the GI imprint Spectral Sounds) and ASA BREED, which found Dear hitting upon an original mix of cerebral microhouse constructions and infectious dancefloor sounds. Dear has performed and written under various pseudonyms including False, Audion, and Jabberjaw, and has remixed tracks for Hot Chip, the Postal Service, and others.
